Andrew Sullivan posts a quote from CS Lewis

In the quote Lewis makes the point that "There ought to be two distinct kinds of marriage: one governed by the State with rules enforced on all citizens, the other governed by the Church with rules enforced by her on her own members. "

I highly doub that when CS Lewis was discussing "all citizens" he intended that to include same sex partners. But the quote could apply.

I wonder what Brent over at Southern Appeal who have long stated their high regard for Lewis, a regard justly deserved by the way, would say about the quote.

I personally think the amendment is a really bad idea, more for structural, poliltical and historical reasons than any other, but Leis's comment in this context seems to weigh against as well.
