New Possibilities at Justice? "Justice Department insiders point to Bush campaign chair Marc Racicot, a former governor and Republican national chairman, as top prospect for attorney general in a second Bush term. A second option: former deputy attorney general Larry Thompson, who would be the first African-American to hold the post. Ashcroft, despite recent health problems and lukewarm relations with the White House, isn't expected to quit before the election."

I had thought that Ashcroft would resign before the Democratic Convention, but with Tenet out it clouds the issue.
